What does Undermountain Partners do?
Undermountain Partners provides practical support and project management to families navigating the administrative work of settling a loved one’s affairs. We help you understand what legal and financial tasks need to be done and in what order; guide you through the process in coordination with attorneys, financial advisors, CPAs, etc.; and provide referrals for trustworthy service providers.
Do you provide legal advice, financial advice, or grief counseling?
No. Undermountain Partners does not provide legal or financial advice, and we do not offer clinical grief counseling. We do not replace attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, or mental-health professionals.
What we do is work alongside those experts to keep everything organized, coordinated, and moving forward. We help you understand the administrative steps, gather documentation, manage tasks, and ensure that all the work of settling your loved one’s affairs is consolidated in one place. Many families — and many referral partners — find this collaborative structure reduces stress, prevents miscommunication, and keeps the entire process on track.
Who are your services designed for?
Most of our clients are adult children, spouses, and caregivers in the “sandwich generation” — people managing careers, raising children, and caring for aging parents all at once. We support anyone who is responsible for closing out a loved one’s affairs and wants clarity, structure, and trusted help.
When should someone reach out for support?
It’s helpful to reach out as soon as you find yourself overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, or worried that something might slip through the cracks. Whether you’re in the first days after a loss or already months into the process, we can step in at any point to bring order, direction, and relief.
What specific services do you offer?
We offer two types of support:
Estate-Settlement Planning – We identify the accounts, documents, and tasks that make up the estate and create a clear, customized project plan so you know exactly what needs to be done and in what order.
Estate-Settlement Coaching – We meet with you regularly to keep you on track, answer questions, document decisions, and adjust the plan as life circumstances shift.
When needed, we also connect you with trusted legal, financial, and grief-support professionals.
See here for a fuller description of each offering.
What do after-loss services cost?
Depending on the scope and complexity, services may be priced as a flat-fee package or billed hourly. After a free consultation, we provide a proposal outlining recommended services and estimated costs so you know what to expect.
How long does estate settlement usually take?
Timelines vary widely. Many straightforward estates take 3–6 months, while more complex situations — multiple properties, probate, business interests, or family coordination challenges — can take longer. We begin every engagement with a clear timeline and adjust as needed while keeping you informed at every step.
How do you protect my family’s personal and financial information?
Confidentiality is central to our work. We use secure digital tools, encrypted storage when appropriate, and careful handling of physical documents. We only ask for your personal information when it’s absolutely necessary, and we only share it with your permission. We’re happy to walk you through our privacy practices before you begin.
How do I get started?
Begin by scheduling a free, no-obligation consultation. During this video call, I’ll learn about your situation, answer your questions, and recommend a path forward. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll follow up with a written proposal and you can decide how to proceed.
